Environment

Protection of the environment is an integral part of our management systems in place at Bicester. We control the impact of our processes on the environment through internal audits of our Environmental Policy and System, under ISO 14001.

As part of our commitment to energy savings, which are required under the Climate Change Agreement, we aim to reduce energy consumption as far as is practically possible (similar to EMAS), and is being overseen by our Environmental Consultants, INENCO, to formulate and operate an Energy Reduction Programme.

Our new Press installations have the latest Drier technology that re-uses heat from afterburner to provide heat in the internal buildings

To comply with new build legislation pre-cooling technology is being employed (Dry air cooling units), this with the above initiative will ensure that bgp complies with new build carbon footprint legislation. 

bgp has also been accepted as a beta site to the BPIF who are working in partnership with the Carbon Trust to produce a calculator based on the forthcoming PAS2050 methodology, this involves collecting a large amount of data for analysis purposes, producing reports from the calculator that detail emissions in magnitude order.
